Long Term Visit Passes Eligibility

P1, P2 Employment Pass holders and S Pass may apply for Long Term Visit Passes for their:

  • Common-law Spouse
  • Unmarried Handicapped children above 21 years of age
  • Unmarried Step-children under 21 years of age
  • Parents and parents-in-law, only for those earning a fixed salary of at least $12,000

Provided you are:

  • Earning fixed monthly salary of more than or equal to $6,000

  • Sponsored by an established, Singapore registered company

Documents required for Long Term Visit Pass

In general, these documents and information are required for Long Term Visit Pass applications:

1. Long Term Visit Pass Application Form

  • The applicant must be sponsored by a well-established Singapore-registered company, normally the employer of the Employment Pass holder.
  • The form must be endorsed with the company’s stamp or seal, and signed by the applicant and an authorized officer from the sponsoring company.
  • A parent’s signature is required for children aged 16 years and below

2. Photograph of the applicant (passport-sized and taken within last three months)

3. Personal particulars page of applicant’s passport/travel document

4. Copies of passport details and birth or marriage certificates

All visas offered by the Singaporean government provide various advantages to those who obtain them. However, the advantages offered by the Employment Pass are more numerous, accessible, and commonly needed or desired when compared to the advantages offered by other visas. Therefore, the Employment Pass has become the most frequently issued, desired, and recommended visa in Singapore.

Application Process for Long Term Visit Pass

It can take up to typically 3 weeks for Non-Sponsorship holders and 8 weeks for Sponsorship holders.

Breakdown of the application steps:

To be completed by the Employer:

  • Submit an Application
  • Bring the intended pass holder into Singapore
  • Get issued the pass issued

To be completed by the Foreigner:

  • Register fingerprints and photo
  • Receive the card

Important information:

  • The validity of this pass is up to 2 years.
  • Application for the renewal of the pass can be made 6 months prior to expiry date and you must apply before the renewal date. It is important to take note however that Renewals are not guaranteed,

Applicants who hold non-English documents or certificates are required to submit a copy of the original papers and the official English translation certified by the respective embassy.

Long Term Visit Pass+:

You will stand a chance qualify as a Long Term Visit Pass+ (LTVP+) holder if you are a foreign spouse of a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident. For applicants of Long Term Visit Pass who are foreign spouses of Singapore Citizens, they will automatically be placed in consideration for the LTVP+. The benefits as a LTVP+ holder you may stand to enjoy are:

  • Allowed to stay in Singapore for 3 years as compared to a usual LTVP holder of 2 years
  • Prospective employers of LTVP+ holders can apply for a Letter of Consent(LOC) to grant them the right to work in Singapore.
  • Upon renewal, LTVP+ holders will be allowed to stay in Singapore for 5 years as compared to a usual LTVP holder of:
  1. 3 months as a Dependant of an Employment Pass holder
  2. 2 months as a Dependant of a S Pass Holder
